Foreign Affairs minister Sam Kahamba Kuteesa has asked Ugandans especially the unemployed youth to shun the ongoing protests in the country following the arrest of several members of parliament on 13th of this month. Several members of parliament including Kyadondo East member of parliament Kyagulanyi Robert have been arrest and charged of treason before Gulu Chief Magistrate Court.
Addressing media on Friday afternoon, Kuteesa who doubles as member of parliament representing Mawogola constituency on ruling National Resistance Movement party ticket says government will not tolerate those who wants to destroy peace and stability enjoyed in the country.
He warned that rioters will met with adequate force from the security personnel. He added that those planning to protest in the country should prepare themselves to face long arm of the law.
He stressed that demonstration by Ugandans in foreign Countries against the arrest of Bobi Wine will not affect Uganda’s Relationship with those countries. This has followed the Demonstrations where Ugandans in UK, Netherlands, south Africa, Kenya, Japan, Denmark and others stood up to fight for Hon Kyagulanyi.
He said those planning to destabilize Uganda through protest should think of other things to do because the NRM government will not fall through demonstrations on street.
