Ugandans urged to send Museveni to jail or grave

by James Ateenyi

Embakasi East member of parliament Paul Ongili also known as Babu Owino has once again taken a swipe at Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguts Museveni following the arrest of Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine was on Monday arrested as he attempted to access his One Love Beach at Busalaba.

Taking to his Facebook page, Babu called upon Ugandans to oust Museveni through an uprising and send him to jail or grave.

“Ugandans use this opportunity to take the old man to jail, he said adding that “if possible to his grave,” Owino said.

The vocal Kenyan opposition lawmaker who is also the Secretary of Young Parliamentarians has been a great critic of East Africa longest serving president who has ruled Uganda since 1986 with Owino lately championing for a revolt of Museveni’s rule.

Bobi Wine was arrested on Monday morning while heading for a press conference to address the country about police brutality after his Easter Monday concert was cancelled by the authority.

Bobi Wine is one of the strong critic of Museveni’s rule in Ugamda. This is not the first time he has been arrested. Last year, he found himself on the firing line after some residents pelted Museveni’s motorcade with stones in Arua during opposition campaign trail.

Last week Ugandan Supreme Court cleared Museveni to run for the sixth term in office after the age limit was removed.

The judges ruled 4:3 in favour of the Constitutional Court verdict which paved way for Museveni life presidency.
