The family of Arnold Ainebyona made strong demand to government

by James Ateenyi

The family of the late Arnold Ainebyona, who was gunned down at Quality Supermarket in Namugongo on Tuesday, says their son was killed because of tribal sentiments.

This as prayers were held at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero in honour of the fallen young businessman on Wednesday.

The family further asked government to recall all guns currently owned by private security companies.

They blame the incident on recklessness on the part of security guards.

Speaking on the matter, Rev. Medad Birungi, told NBS television there are so many people in Uganda who are angry.

“When you are angry, you are easily provoked to kill. Anger has brought about demonstrations, murders and it’s anger that led to the Rwanda genocide.”

The chaplain St. Kakumba Chapel, Church of Uganda, said self-control, forgiveness and reconciliation are important.

“We should also try to avoid provoking people in order to live in harmony and unity.”

Police has opened a case file number CRB 530/2019 into the shooting of the co-owner of Kololo based Hickory Bar and Restaurant.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire, said they have gathered to use when the security guard [Moses Angoria] who is hospitalised gets better.

Mugisha went King’s College Buddo between 2010 and 2011.

Born to Mr and Ms Plan Mugisha in 1993, and after studying Economics, History, Geography and Christian Religious Education, Mugisha Ayinebyona then went to Oxford Brookes University in the United Kingdom to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management between 2012 and 2015.

He would enrol for Master of Science (Real Estate Finance) from 2015 to 2016.

He will be buried in Rushenyi County, Ntungamo district.
