The family of the late Arnold Ainebyona, who was gunned down at Quality Supermarket in Namugongo on Tuesday, says their son was killed because of tribal sentiments.
This as prayers were held at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero in honour of the fallen young businessman on Wednesday.
The family further asked government to recall all guns currently owned by private security companies.
They blame the incident on recklessness on the part of security guards.
Speaking on the matter, Rev. Medad Birungi, told NBS television there are so many people in Uganda who are angry.
“When you are angry, you are easily provoked to kill. Anger has brought about demonstrations, murders and it’s anger that led to the Rwanda genocide.”
The chaplain St. Kakumba Chapel, Church of Uganda, said self-control, forgiveness and reconciliation are important.
“We should also try to avoid provoking people in order to live in harmony and unity.”
Police has opened a case file number CRB 530/2019 into the shooting of the co-owner of Kololo based Hickory Bar and Restaurant.

He would enrol for Master of Science (Real Estate Finance) from 2015 to 2016.
He will be buried in Rushenyi County, Ntungamo district.
