Buganda kingdom has joined the rest of Ugandans in standing in solidarity with the jailed Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi SSentamu popularly known by his stage name Bobi Wine. The Kabaka Ronald Muteebi II through kingdom official Owek Ssendawula Emmanuel delivered a message to the Bobi Wine wife Barbra Itungo Kyagulanyi aka Barbie Wine.
Kabaka in his message praised Barbie Wine for remaining strong and standing by her husband during the hardest time in their life. He also praises Barbies for the continued inspiration she has given to her husband who was injured by security during the brutal arrest by security forces at Arua in West Nile.
Kabaka said the kingdom is aware of trying moment the family of Kyagulanyi is going through and asked them to remain firm because the kingdom is behind them.
Kabaka added that, Kyagulanyi family is not facing the current situation alone but the whole Kingdom and the people of Uganda are with them.
Kyagulanyi was arrested along side 34 other people in Arua following fracas which broke out at the close of campaign of Arua municipality by-election. The angry opposition crowds allegedly stoned and broke windscreen of president Yoweri Museveni lead car after the president convoy drove through the procession of opposition supporters.
Several people were arrested including the Arua municipality member of parliament elect Kassiano Wadri, Jinja East municipality MP Paul Mwiru, Ntungamo municipality MP Gerald Kyaruhanga among others.
