Different security agencies especially senior officers from Special Forces Command and senior police officers at Kampala Central police station and a top city conman are in serious disagreement over sharing of shs 70m obtained from a victim.
According to reliable sources from Kampala CPS, officers were on Sunday confronting each other after some detectives and SFC officers and their conduit a one Bashir Semakula opened a fake case of forgery and obtaining money by false pretense against a one Jeff alias George Mwase and another victim only identified as Getawo living in South Africa upon learning that they had a lot of money on their account.
Sources stated that Jeff was then arrested and detained for close to eight hours at Kampala CPS on orders of CID bosses and was released later at night upon acceptance to pay USD 20,000 an equivalent to shs 75M.
Source further reveals that that top CID commanders at Kampala Metropolitan Police who were in the deal with Semakula instructed one of their juniors who was the investigating officer to ensure that the suspect should be detained in police cells.
“This case is purely civil and I don’t know why CID opted to open up a criminal case against the suspect. Am advising both of you to go and settle yourselves from outside police “ACP Namuwoza Denis Namuwoza was quoted as telling both parties before ordering the investigating officer not to detain the suspect at any cost.
The frustrated security forces then rushed to the KMP commander ACP Moses Kafeero and complained that one of his officers was not handling their file very well.
To make matters worse, Kafeero told them that he had nothing to do for them since he had forwarded that specific complaint to his deputy and was handling it very well.
It is indicated that the fight now is between SFC officers and CID operatives against Bashir Semakula whom they say he received the money but refused to share with them yet it was them that came up with the deal and only used them.
