Security chiefs meet over Bobi Wine candidature

Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi David has on Tuesday afternoon held a lengthy meeting with all Kampala Metropolitan Police commanders.

Also in attendance were all Regional Police Commanders, District Police Commanders, Divisional commanders, intelligence officers, and detectives.

The meeting took place at Police headquarters with a major objective of devising a means of enhancing joint security initiatives that will promote a safer society for all Ugandans.

Among the aspects of the meeting is enhanced intelligence led operations, targeted deployments and patrols, profiling of known criminals(serial offenders), community policing, drug abuse investigations, community mobilisations and observance of human rights in policing.

Also in attendance is the Deputy Inspector General of Police Major General Sabiiti Muzeyi as well as several Directors from the Police and other security agencies.

The meeting further discussed the security in the country ahead of 2021 general elections.

A source within police told us that the main objective of the meeting was to devise means of dealing with unruly elements of opposition especially former Forum for Democratic Change president Dr Kizza Besigye and Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine.
