Former Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof Venansius Baryamureeba is smiling ears to ears after being nominated for International Prestigious Socrates Award.
The award is the project of International Organisation working with aim of promoting collaboration, innovation and development for education and business across the globe.
It is given to people with outstanding and positive constribution towards the development of economies, scientific innovation as well as business and cultural advancement.
Baryamureeba has been nominated after carefully studying his professional achievements and business activities and was identified as a “key figure in the development of the region.”
“The award demonstrates that you have gained the highest level of professional achievement in relation to humanitarian goals, environmental awareness and business innovation,” wrote Jessica Walker, the Oxford Summit of Leaders Organising Committee Coordinator.
The ceremony is scheduled for 18th December 2018 at the Oxford Town Hall in the UK and is likely to attract high profile businessmen, politicians, members of state, entrepreneurs among others.
Prof Baryamureeba will also speak at the event as one of the invited speakers representing regional business leaders’ One step ahead Business.
Baryamureeba who recently announced his crossing to NRM expressed happiness upon the achievements.
“I am proud of my works nationally, regionally and globally. I would like to commit the remaining productive years of my life to the service of Ugandans under the NRM government,” he added.
