As president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has realised that, his vision of taking Uganda to middle income country in 2020 is likely not to be realised, he has resorted to acting tough on officials whom he sees are contributing to his failures.
Museveni has this time round made a major pronouncement on ministry of Education that is is headed by his own wife Janet Kataha Museveni.
Museveni has ordered for the immediate resignation of 6 officials in the Ministry of Education due to graft and related corruption scandals.
In his letter dated on 1st Oct , Museveni directed that the Contract awards committee in ministry of Education must be also disbanded.
This according to Museveni is improve on service delivery and ensure that his government get elected in the next general elections in 2021 which is not far from now.
The six officials, according to Museveni has been implicated in several scandals and corruption related allegations over the years and there is no need to continue having them in the office.
The latest moves have sent panic within the majority of the employees of Ministry of Education, a docket which have for long period performed below the average.
