Uganda Police have cancelled Bobi Wine concert in Masaka sub region. Bobi Wine who also also doubles as Kyadondo East member of parliament was scheduled to perform in the greater Masaka starting today Wednesday August 1.
Today he was set to perform in Ssembabule district and later proceed to Masaka but police blocked him reasoning that his performance is causing insecurity in Uganda so he should leave singing and concentrate in politics.
Mid last month, Bobi Wine held a concert in Lyantonde district which attracted massive turn up. During the concert he preached the gospel of change and asked youths who were in attendance to hold their leaders accountable and take charge of the country.
Many people who attended the show said they were enlightened as far as political affairs in Uganda is concerned and added that their perception of politics in Uganda have changed.
Ssembabule district is the home of the powerful Foreign affairs Minister Sam Kahamba Kuteesa who has been previously accused of oppressing all opposition voices in the district.
Bobi Wine since joining parliament has been preaching gospel of change through out the country using the slogan “youth power.” He is the currently one of the most popular member of parliament who has been advocating for issues that affects the local population in the country.
Recently he staged a demonstration against social media and mobile taxes which were effected from July 1, 2018.
This the not the first time Bobi Wine Concerts have been cancelled. During December after lifting of age limit, police cancelled all Bobi Wine concerts in the country. He was later cleared to have concerts on accounts that he should concentrate on only music but not politics.
