Panics as assassins release new hit list

Panic has gripped media fraternity after new hit list targeting mainly journalists from Masaka district.

The new list consists of 12 journalists has been making rounds on social media since last night. This comes after after hitmen have dropped several letters in Kampala stating names of several people and some of them have been killed already. The new list featured mainly journalists and has been written in Luganda and contains the names of their next victims, their work station and the reason why they are on the hit list.

The names include; Tomusange Kayinja (CBS), Kalanzi Jamiru (CBC), Rpobert Nsubuga (BBSTV), John Male (CBS), Jaci Bwanika (Bukedde), Ssozi Ssemkipi (CBS), Mukasa Kipecu (Kamunye), Dismas Buregeya (New Vision), Gertude Mutyaba (Monitor), Norman Kabugu (Kamunye), Aliga (NTV) and Farisi Magembe (NBS).

This comes few days after police placed a reward of Shs 20,000,000/= for anybody who can positively identify the ringleader of the criminal gang that have been dropping threatening letter in Kampala.

On 11th October 2018, Police addressed the media on the same issue of some criminal elements that were circulating threatening letters/messages to the business community with a few of extorting money from them especially in Kampala Metropolitan Areas.

The hit lists have been for several years releasing such list and several people who featured on the list have been killed while others are still living in fears.

This is the latest list released by police in space of less than a month with the latest being in last month and has several people including cultural leaders, religious leaders, politicians among others.

Me I think all those list are either to create fear among listed members or to send them clear messages that no one is safe until the whole country is guaranteed security
