The National treasurer of the ruling National Resistance Movement Rose Namayanja Nsereko has survived being burnt alive following an attack by unknown thugs few days ago.
The thugs tried to set a blaze her house located at Masooli Village in Kasangati town council in Wakiso district.
According to our highly trusted source from police, a group of rowdy people unsuccessfully tried to burn down Namayanja’s property twice, but on both occasions they did not trap Namayanja.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire confirmed to this website that revealing that the first attempt was on Thursday evening when the annex housing a salon and gym burnt to ashes.
He said the second incident was recorded on Friday morning when fire started in the main house in the sitting room but was put off.
“The actual cause of the fire is still unknown but investigating officers have already embarked on the investigations and arrested two suspects so far. We also believe that the arrested might have some information regarding to the incidents,” Oweisigire said.
However, Oweyesigire declined to reveal the suspects’ identities for fear of jeopardizing police investigations.
He added that, in the course of putting out the fire in the sitting room, another fire erupted from the quarters where the housemaid sleeps. Namayanja noted that the fire in the living room was spotted by her employees who helped to put it out despite the fact that it had destroyed several properties.
Info256 has learnt that Namayanja has since fled her home in Kasangati and decided to hibernate at some yet to be identified place of abode, after fearing that her enemies might be up to some sinister evil with intent to harm her.
