Democratic Party president Norbert Mao has explained the circumstances that led to the shooting of Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi’s driver Yasin Kawuma. Mao who said he was also at the Pacific hotel in Arua on Monday 13th July when chaos broke out in Arua revealed that Kawuma was not shot at the hotel.
Speaking during the frontline program a weekly television show on NBS, Mao revealed that Yasin was shot from someone else and later driven to the hotel by unknown people believed to be Special Force Command.
“It’s a lie to say that Yasin was shot from Pacific. For someone to shoot you, it must be intentional. Yasin was not shot by a stray bullet. He was shot on close range and after that security guys went on a rampage.” Mao said.
Mao further revealed that his aide monitored around and witnessed the vehicle being driven with dead body inside to the Pacific Hotel. He went on to say that his team were the first one to take picture of Yasin Kawuma and shared it to the social media. He denied allegation that Kawuma could have been shot by stray bullet stating that he was intentionally shot by the SFC army.
