President Yoweri Museveni has on Friday commissioned 13 roads that were constructed in Gulu Municipality under World Bank funded, Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructural Development – USMID Project.

Construction of the more than 10-kilometres of roads commenced in 2017 at a tune of 43 billion Shillings.

Constructed roads include Lango Road, School Road, Cemetery road, Acholi Lane and Alokolum road. Others are Lumumba Avenue, Commercial Road, Crane Avenue and Odur Min Odyek Road.

President Yoweri Museveni urged Ugandans to properly utilize the roads for development and business. Museveni also rallied Ugandans to embrace commercial farming in order to increase their household income.

Museveni also addressed NRM supporters in Kitgum where he blasted the voters against selling votes stating that votes is not something to joke with.

“I hear that some of these people bring you 2,000/= to vote for them. 2,000/= for 5 years? That is a mockery! At least if you’re going to sell your vote, sell it at Shs 20 million,” Museveni said.

Museveni has on several occasions been accused by members of opposition of the same vise of vote buying an accusations the ruling party denied.
