President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will address the nation on the current political issues on Sunday, September 9, 2018 State house has said. The president who is facing a number of political challenges since the torture and arrests of members of parliament will address the nation from state house Entebbe in an event that will aired live on television.
This will be the seventh time president Museveni will be addressing the nation since Arua fracas which saw a number of members of parliament including Kyadondo East MP hon Bobi Wine injured.
Mr Museveni who just returned from state visit to China is expected to tackle several issues including the torture of MPs, insecurity, corruption among others issues in his address.
He is also expected to comment on the growing political pressure especially from supporters of Bobi Wine.
He is also expected to address the nation about economy, high cost of living and raising unemployment in Uganda.
Human right issues is also expected to be high on the agenda in Museveni address.
Museveni who came to power in 1986 will be addressing the nation at the time when the majority of population and international community are asking him to consider stepping down come 2021 when his current term expires.
Museveni will address the nation a day after former Buyende DPC Mohamed Kirumira was shot a long with his by unknown assailant.
