In the last 24 hours president Museveni the head of state of the Republic of Uganda has lost two Generals of the Uganda Peoples Forces which he heads as the commander in chief and which has been responsible for ensuring that he stays in power.
The latest General to mysteriously die is Brigadier General Victor Twesigye who has been the Uganda People’s Defense Forces-UPDF liaison officer at the East African community headquarters in Arusha in Tanzania where he has been instrumental in playing Museveni’s Geopolitical cards in the region.
Brigadier General Twesigye is said to have passed away at his home in Rukungiri district western Uganda on Thursday morning after falling in the bathroom according to the UPDF spokesperson Brigadier Richard Karemire
On the same day the UPDF spokesperson Brigadier Richard Karemire announced that the chief of staff of the UPDF reserve forces General Eric Mukasa passed away at noon at Nakasero Hospital Kampala where he had been admitted in the morning due to cardiac arrest.
The death of the two gallant Generals brings the number of of Generals in UPDF who have died to four in less than 30 days and is viewed as a threat to Museveni’s hold on power.
On Tuesday this week, another General, Brigadier General Bell Tushabe who was credited for capturing Kampala in 1986 during the Museveni led war that ushered NRM government in power passed away at Nakasero Hospital due to multiple organ failure.
Last month , Museveni’s key adviser on Buganda affairs and 45 year battle hardened nonsense Maj. Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga also passed on at Nakasero Hospital after under going a successful operation to remove a blood clot in one of his vessels in the head on the 9th of June 2020.
