Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has on Wednesday appointed Hon Dan Wandera Ogalo as the Chairperson of the KCCA Valuation Court replacing hon Asuman Basalerwa who was elected as member of parliament for Bugiri municipality.
Wandera Ogalo was the lead counsel for petitioners during the age limit constitutional court in Mbale where Lukwago was part of the legal team.
“The Kampala Capital City Authority meeting sitting today chaired by the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has greatly appreciated the inestimable performance of Hon. Asuman Basalirwa as Chairperson of the KCCA Valuation Court. He was congratulated upon his new assignment as a Legislator in the National Assembly and wished well in his new role,” a statement from Lord Mayor office stated.
It added, “Accordingly, the Authority Sitting has approved the Hon. Dan Wandera Ogalo as the new Chairperson of the KCCA Valuation Court basing on his legislative career spanning several years.”
Ogalo is known critic of president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and combination with Lukwago is likely to tear apart the relationship between the political leaders of KCCA and the technical team of the KCCA.
Ogalo before worked as secretary for legal and constitutional affairs of opposition Forum for Democratic Change and also served in the 1995 constituent assembly which debated and promulgated the 1995 constitution.
