The detained Kyadondo East member of parliament Hon Robert Kyagulanyi also know as Bobi Wine could be charged any time soon according to the security sources.
Bobi Wine was arrested in connection to the scuffle that engulfed Arua town following the campaign rallies that attracted all opposition and ruling party leaders and in the area.
He was arrested alongside Independent candidate Kasiano Wadri whom he had gone to campaign for, Hon Michael Mabike, Gerald Karuhanga, Jinja municipality East MP Paul Mwiru, Mityana municipality Francis Zaake among others.
Bobi Wine is detained in undisclosed military facility while the rest of his colleagues are being held at Gulu Central Police Station, 200 Km away from crime scene.
Family members and lawyers of the legislator said they have denied access to him and do not know he is being held.
According to source within the military, Bobi Wine has been returned to 409 military Brigade in Arua and could be charged anytime soon in relation to the chaos that resulted into the death of his driver Mr Yasin Kavuma.
Sources further revealed that the State might charge the suspects with attempting to assassinate the president a treasonable offense.
According to the constitution, upon convicted the arrested suspects could face death by hanging or life imprisonment.
The president had today Tuesday morning condemned the oppositions leaders warning that they would be dealt with in accordance to the law.
The suspects are yet to be charged formally. Police said in the statement that they are still investigating the incident which saw president Museveni motorcade attacked.
