Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popular by his stage name has on Thursday left police in shock after beating security at his home and appeared in Bugiri.
Bobi Wine was placed under house arrests after declaring mass protests against police brutality and impunity.
“I had to find a way of attending the burial of our patriotic elder Haji Siraji Samanya Lyavaala in Bugiri. No matter how much the regime tries to keep us apart, we shall always find a way of coming together,” Bobi Wine posted on his Facebook page.
Upon receiving the news of Bobi Wine escape, former Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura could not hide his excitement and publicly expressed his joy.
“The said I infested police with “Kawukumu” (weavils) now am not there, where did Kawukumi come from,” the former IGP was heard telling his aide while at his country farm in Lyantonde.
Kayihura was the longest serving police boss by the time he was sacked by president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last year.
Museveni on several occasions accused police under Kayihura of incompetence and negligence.
