On Monday, Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine was remanded to Luzira maximum prison until Thursday May, 2 2019.
The law maker is accused of taking part in protests against the unpopular social media and Mobile Money tax, and was arrested on Monday as he led a huge procession on the way to record a statement at Katwe Police.
However, what shocked everyone in the court room was the magistrate who was handling case who pleaded with media not to indentify her name and details.
It is not known why but it is believed that the Magistrate is afraid of becoming a target of Bobi Wine’s followers.
Before being sent on remand Bobi Wine told the court that it is not him (Bobi Wine) who is on trial but rather the court itself which is on trial.
He added that his only offense is fighting for justice for everyone including the Judiciary, police and common man.
