Kawempe South Kawempe South member of parliament Mubarak Munyagwa Sserunga has been the talk of the nation ever since his appointment by FDC party president Patrick Amoriat Oboi as chairperson of Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).
Many people were wondering how the man who is considered a comedian could be appointed as chairman of committee which is charged with examining all the expenditures by the government.

He was born on July 24, 1979, in Kampala. Attended Kitagwenda High School for his O level and Nakasero Secondary School for his A-level. In 2014, he graduated with a diploma in law from Law Development Centre.
In 2011, He was elected as mayor of Kawempe Division a position he held till 2016 when he contested and won member of parliament seat for Kawempe South.
In Parliament, Manyagwa served as a committee member on Equal Opportunities as well as Defense and Internal Affairs.
During his term as Kawempe Mayor, Manywagwa was involved in several controversies including being kidnaped for sometimes in what many believed for self-kidnap. He was involved in several demonstrations which involve Dr, Besigye as a result, he faced several arrests hence winning heart of many oppositions.
He contested for FDC party president in the previous election but later withdrew from the race in favor of Oboi who later went on to win the election.
Manyagwa is remembered for carrying out Duah (Islamic prayer) asking God (Allah) to take away life of president Museveni.
In 2017, he was committed to Luzira prison for failure to pay debt worth 300 million shillings to a businessman called John Baptist Maali where he spent two weeks in jail. Upon his release he blames his trouble on president Museveni whom he said is using other people to fight him.
Many people consider him as a comedian but his ability to fight for the common man has won him many supports in his constituency. He subscribes to people’s government faction of FDC and has escorted Besigye in all his campaign rallies across the country.
It is important to note that Munyagwa is taking over from Abdu Katuntu who was credited for his fight against corruption and was able to recover millions of shillings from different culprits. Wether or not he will perform is story for another day,
