Minister of Information and National Guidance, Hon Frank Tumwebaze has come out to revealed shocking evidence as why state operatives are blocking Bobi Wine music concert.
Appearing on NBS morning breeze program, Tumwebaze said he is tired of opposition and police ping pong.
“These issues of opposition and police bore me. I am reluctant to blame the police for doing its work. I am very sure the opposition benefit from it and they benefit from it politically. They get sympathy from people, they get extra visibility,” Tumwebaze said.
He stressed that national security leadership advised them to leave them to do their work because they have security intelligence that both external and internal national enemies can kill Bobi Wine to destabilize the country and put the burden on government.
He urged Ugandans especially the supporters of Kyadondo East legislator to understand that their person is no longer a musician they used to see, but a national figure and whatever happens to him concerns government.
The statement did not go well with sections of opposition promoting some of them to fires back at the minister.
“A fool has used the morning breeze on NBS to say that we Opposition MPs went to Parliament with razorblades to cut NRM MPs during the Togikwatako debate that is why the army had to come in….I can’t continue listening; Njala forgive me. Let me get ready to go to Court, am told my sister Stella Nyanzi is at Buganda road court today,” Mukono municipality MP Nambooze stated.
“State agencies are used to flagrantly violate the Bill of rights, cause mayhem and put one’s life in harm’s way, and then you hear a whole Minister make such irresponsible statements, that the NRM Party blamed Police for making opposition figureheads heroes! Very sickening!” Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago fumed.
Previously former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye had said government wanted to kill Bobi Wine in Arua and later blame it on opposition.
