Former Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has for the second time travelled to Nairobi since his release from military detention.
The family sources said that Kayihura travelled to Nairobi on Monday morning for scheduled medical check up.
The source however, added that they cannot they cannot comment much on the details of Kayihura trip since it involves medical condition.
Kayihura’s lawyers, Kampala Associates Advocates (KAA), confirmed Kayihura’s departure.
“Yes, it is true, Kayihura is in Nairobi,” said KAA counsel, Ellison Karuhanga.
We can confirm that Kayihura travelled to Nairobi hospital as a follow up on his scheduled medical examination as a follow up on tests carried out in September.
Kayihura is currently facing several charges before military court martial including failure to protect war materials and abetting kidnap Makindye General Court Martial, secured bail on August 28.
Earlier there was a report that Kayihura travelled to Germany for medical check up but the report was denied by his lawyer Counsel Karuhanga.
“Our client was never in a Germany facility. He has been in Kampala,” said Karuhanga in reference to rumours that Kayihura recently held meetings in Germany.
This comes against the backdrop of reports that charges leveled against him could be dropped by the military court due to lack of evidence.
