FDC to Museveni: Stop dubbing Ugandans, criminals cannot fight criminals

The Forum for Democratic change party Deputy General Secretary Harold has blasted the cabinet resolution aimed at wiping out corruption in the country to zero.

While appearing on local radio, KFM, Kaija stated that there no any law the regime of president Museveni can use to fight corruption since majority of its leaders are corrupt.

He added that there is no any mean a criminal can fight his fellow criminal emphasising that corruption can only be wiped out if the country get ride of the current leaders.

This comes after the cabinet recently approved the zero tolerance to corruption policy 2018 which seeks to fight, guide and coordinate government response towards incidences of corruption and also restore public sector ethics.

The state minister for ethics and integrity Fr. Simon Lokodo was also quoted as saying that with enough funding to anti-corruption agencies, the vice will be history in the country.

During his address to the nation in September this year, president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni announced the creation of new toll free numbers with aim of fighting of corruption especially in public sector. He advised the general public to report corrupt public officials using the toll free number: 0800100770 and 0772634743.

“These corrupt officials are easy to uproot. Just expose them and see what happens to them and by the way, the toll free numbers belong to my office,” Museveni said. “Uganda is ready takeoff apart from a few problems like corruption,” the president stated.  
