Democratic Republic of Congo movement known as “Pouvoir au Peuple” loosely translated as power to the people has warned president Yoweri Museveni against continued detention of Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine.
The movement through its leader Bissa Kembetia demands for unconditional release of of the Ghetto president and warned Museveni of severe consequence should he defy the order.
“Bobi Wine must be released. He is only defending Ugandan people,” the leader of the movement Bissa Kembetia said.
Bissa added that power belong to the people and urged Museveni to respect the wills of the majority by stepping down so that Ugandans take charge of the affairs of the country. He further said that Bobi Wine whom he claims to be one them is the only one who can take power back to the people.
He said he would write to the long time Uganda leader to follow Kabila footsteps and handover power to the new generation in order to ensure prosperity and development of the country.
He also warned security personnel against maiming and killing the local population stating that it won’t stop change from happening.
“The president should know that he will not stop this by arresting or killing people like Bobi Wine. We must give power back to the people.” Bissa enchoed.
He also asserted that they would engage international communities to ensure that Bobi Wine get his freedom and charges against him are dropped.
“We are doing our best to raise Bobi Wine’s voice in Europe and America. Bobi Wine must be released.” He clarified.
He asked Ugandans to continue fighting for rules of law and democracy like they did in DR Congo.
