by Odongo Christopher

Drama ensued when police in Western Uganda mounted hunt for non existent former Forum for Democratic Change president Dr Kizza Besigye.

It all started when the FDC Leaders including party president Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Secretary for Mobilisation Ingrid Turinawe were blocked by heavily armed Police deployed at Katunguru, on the Kasese-Rubirizi border as Police looks for former President Dr Kizza Besigye who stealthily went to Bundibugyo to inaugurate People’s Government Regional Assembly for Rwenzori.

Traffic on the busy road including tourists were blocked as Police checks all vehicles looking for Besigye. Amuriat and Ingrid were from Fortportal connecting to Rubirizi.

The unannounced appearance of Kizza Besigye in Bundibugyo rattled security as he is not allowed in Rwenzori region without “security clearance “.

“I hope the Police will find him. POA and Ingrid remain detained at the road block,” Besigye aide Ronald Muhinda said when asked to comment on police behavior.
