Kyadondo East legislator Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu a pop music star turned into politician commonly known by his stage name Bobi Wine has fronted his Ghetto TV blogger a Facebook celebrity and die-hard fan Katto Arshiraf popularly known as Ashburg to contest on Masaka Municipality MP seat on People Power ticket.

Senior Democratic Party (DP) leaders; the Vice President and East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Fred Denis MukasaMbidde and Former Mengo Youth Minister the area MP hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba are in an open battle for the same seat come as we draw close to 2021 general elections.

Reliable source indicates that hon. Bobi Wine has advised his blogger Ashburg to vie for the post, after the big two Masaka municipality politicians failed to reach a common ground which Mr. Wine is avoiding to take any side among the two. It is said that Mr. Wine on different occasions has tried to advise the two to get different constituencies and his efforts failed to yield anything.

Arshburg was thrown behind bars at Katwe Police station earlier this year over defamation charges. Socialite Kirumira Brian, commonly know as Bryan White accused Ashburg for spreading falsehoods about him for a long time. Arshburg on different occasions attacked Brian White which just because of his perception that Mr. White was fighting against Bobi Wine.

Recently Ashburg went missing and it was alleged that security organs had arrested him and detained the blogger in unknown place for some days. However many politicians criticised Ashburg claiming that he wanted political capital.

The declaration of Bobi Wine’s blogger Ashburg to contest for Masaka Municipality MP seat, has increased the number of opposition candidates for the same post him becoming the fourth opposition candidate including Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Kayemba Godfrey Afaayo who declared recently.
