Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssemtamu was yesterday charged at Guliu military court martial and remanded at Makindye military barracks.
Non of his relatives and well wishers were allowed to see him raising suspicion that he has been tortured and brutalized by the military.
Only two of his lawyers were allowed inside the court. Bugiri municipality member of parliament Asuman Basalirwa and Busiro South member of parliament Medard Ssegona were they only allowed to see him.
According to the lawyers, the legislator has been charged with illegal possession of fire arms contrary to the UPDF act.
Giving statement on the current state of Bobi Wine, Ssegona said the MP is unconscious and could not understand what was happening around him.
“Hon. Bobi Wine is badly brutalised, he couldn’t understand the proceedings in the court martial, he couldn’t speak, he couldn’t see. He has a wound on the back of his head. He can’t stand, he can’t sit. I think the situation is bad he needs prayers.” – Medard Sseggona
People have been asking why he was not in court with Hon Gerald K Karuhanga and others and that’s why they feared to allow his relatives to access him.
Another legislator who could not be brought to court as a result of torture is Mityana municipality MP hon Francis Zaake Muteebi who is currently admitted at Arua Regional Referral Hospital.
