Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was arrested by military operatives today Tuesdays early in the morning at around 10:30 am from Arua pacific hotel.
According to sources within the security, Bobi Wine spent a night in the ceiling of pacific hotel in Arua as police and military searched every room looking for him. He was later arrested after being sold out by one of his colleague who showed operatives where he was hiding.
Upon arrest, the vocal legislator was airlifted to state house Entebbe where he was grilled for about 10 minutes before being airlifted to Bombo military barracks where he is currently being held.
Security sources said the legislator was arrested in relation to the death of his driver who was shot dead after scuffle engulfed Arua town following the completion of campaign.
Police have previously said they are investigating the source of bullet which killed Bobi Wine driver because some of the arrested opposition leaders are armed.
Police spoke person Emilia Kayima confirmed Bobi Wine’s arrest.
In related story, Independent candidate Kasiano Wadri, Hon Francis Zaake and Gerald Karuhanga are being held at Gulu Central Police Station in relation to the same same offence.
Chaos engulfed Arua yesterday following the completion of campaign as supporters of different candidates clashed.
