Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu popularly known by his stage name Bobi Wine has once again come under attacks from government over the recently concluded Kyarenga concert.
The latest reports indicates that the government is demanding Bobi Wine millions of shillings inform of tax revenues on his earnings.
Bobi Wine held a sold out ‘Kyarenga’ concert at his One Love Beach Busabala a week ago and the tax collection body, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is reportedly demanding for 22% tax on every ticket sold at the concert.
The show reportedly fetched close to Shs 400,000,000 according to close sources.
However there is no official statement from URA regarding Kyarenga concert as of yet.
Going by that figure Bobi Wine is likely to cough not less than 88 millions to the tax body though he has not yet commented on the matter.
