Former president of Forum for Democratic Change Dr Kizza Besigye has said the struggle to dislodge president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is in its final stage encouraging his supporters to put more efforts to realise the goal.
Besigye made the remarks while addressing the FDC Kampala Regional Conference which took place at FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
The conference consists of mainly of 80 FDC leaders from each of the five divisions of Kampala.
Besigye urge the party supporters on the need for discipline, focus, commitment in the struggle against Museveni.
He also informed the leaders that after years of struggle, at the time president Museveni is down, but stressed that there is evident confusion among the fighters, something he attributed to state money and propaganda.
Besigye however, said that the four critical pillars that sustain any dictatorial regime in power like Security, economy, popular legitimacy and Support from Internal community have all collapsed.
He said what people need to do is to organise themselves and make final push in order to liberate themselves.
Others FDC leaders who addressed the conference were FDC National Chairman Wasswa Birigwa, Vice Chairperson Buganda Owek. Joyce Ssebugwawo (convener), Opposition Chief Whip Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda and FDC secretary for Mobilization Ingrid Turinawe.
The conference is part of several programs designed to sensitize FDC leaders on the basic tactics of a non violent struggle as well as push forward One Party, One Strategy approach to the struggle.
