Residents have been left in panic after two bodies were found dumped near president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni farm in Kisozi.

The lifeless bodies were discovered at Kawuula villages, Kisozi parish in Gomba District on Tuesday by residents.

The Chairperson Local Council 2 of Kisozi parish Mr Mr Yazid Male identified the deceased as Steven Kasibante who was a farmer at Kawuula B cell and the other was only as Kaliisa who was a resident of Kawuula A cell.

The duo were hacked to death by unknown people as they were returning home from Kawuula Trading Center on Tuesday night.

“They were killed because the security situation in our area is appalling. Can you imagine that we don’t have any single policeman despite the fact that we are near the President’s farm in Kisozi!” Mr Male said on Tuesday morning.

Kawuula B cell LC 1 chairperson Mr Muhammad Sserwadda said he informed of the incident at about 4.30am after being told by one of his neighbours.

“The killers chopped the bodies of the deceased into pieces as if they were chopping goat’s meat. I informed the police but unfortunately, their sniffer dog failed to trace the killers because the scene of the crime was already tampered by crowd,” Mr Sserwadda added.

Gomba District Police Commander Mr Robert Kuzara said the murder was an act of cowardice adding that police is doing all it takes to hunt down the assailants.

“We are handling the situation and I appeal to the residents to be calm as our offices continue to investigate the case,” he said.

However, residents accuses the local leaders and security forces over failure to provide them with maximum protection. They also blamed this unending insecurity to the increasing numbers of strangers into their area.
