On Wednesday last week, president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni showed signs that he is about to make big decisions to announce a new cabinet a development which has created anxiety within ministers.
President Museveni reportedly carried a big file and other documents and went to retreat in his country home in Rwakitura.
The president spent the whole day studying the file and writing on several cheats of paper.
“He kept writing and crossing out things and was only available to talk to anybody on official business on Thursday,” a source close to the president president said.
The incident has escalated the political tension amongst several incumbents who are anxiously waiting for their fate from the big man with all the power to appoint and dismiss at his discretion. He will be announcing major cabinet changes anytime soon from now.
The development comes days after the president completed with major reshuffle of the RDCs and deputy RDCs making cabinet the next target.
“The President is done with RDCs and prior to that we had changes in police and UPDF. Next now has to be cabinet and its actually long overdue,” said a dependable source close to the President.
The president was supposed to make the reshuffle few days back but delayed to make the big announcement due to several factors including the constitution court in Mbale.
The other factor that delayed cabinet changes was the polling exercise for LC1 executives. All these are now behind us, largely went in his favor and the President will without a doubt have to occasion changes in his cabinet in the not so distant future.
