State Minister for Finance in charge of Investments and Privatization and Koboko Municipal MP Evelyn Anite has reacted to sections of Ugandans who held demonstrations against her yesterday in Boston saying she is bothered.
Yesterday some Ugandans who lives in USA held demonstration protesting her admission to Tufts University in United States for the Global Master of Arts program.
Protestants said Anite along side other NRM members of parliament has destroyed democracy by removing the age limit from Ugandan constitutions. They also accused Anite of threatening the Ugandans that, should they protest against life presidency project, the regime will use soldiers to kill them.
In there the petition to the University, the Ugandans want the institute to discontinue Anite from Tufts University Immediately urging that her admission damage the reputation of the Fletcher Schools which they believe is a top Internal affairs institute of the free world. They said enemy of democracy and human rights in Uganda should note have been admitted at the institute in first place.
When we contacted Anite via her official social media, Anite said she has already discussed with the University about her plight and she was understood by the Institute. She added she is the winner in all this saga because she become very popular within the university. She added that the petition against her has also been trashed by the university and she is ready to complete her study calling the protesters as idle group of Ugandans. When we asked her about the rumors of her sacking, Anite said she is still a minister noting that haters have been spreading propagandas and fake news against her. When we asked her about UTL saga, Anite said she cannot comment on the issues now but will address the nation when she returns to Uganda in two month time.
