Museveni and Amama

Former Prime Minister, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has finally broken silence on his move to return to government.

Amama who was long time comrade of president Museveni fell out with NRM boss in 2014 when he sacked as the Prime Minister by president Yoweri Museveni and was replaced with his close friend Dr Ruhakana Rugunda. He later contested against his former boss but miserably lost garnering less than 4 percent of the total vote casts.

When asked whether he considers returning to government, Amama, who was once reffered to as a super minister said that would be the biggest mistake of his career. He added that it has never crossed his mind and will never in future think about it.

He also clarified on his relationship with the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugundu reassuring the country that their relationship with his successor has remained strong despite the fact he never supported his presidential bid in 2016.

He further stressed that an election disagreement is a very small issue which cannot hinder their relationship built over 40 years ago.

Amama was joined by both President Museveni and Yoweri Museveni at his home in Kololo during the introduction ceremony of his daughter over weekend.
